Latvia’s artists and designers will offer sweet, ingenious and practical Christmas gifts in the creative space Tasty

The process of looking for Christmas gifts can be full of joyful adventures. The creative space Tasty, which is well-known for its interesting exhibitions and creative workshops, offers such adventures. During Advent, in a peaceful atmosphere, Tasty offers its visitors to view and purchase Christmas gifts created by Latvia’s designers and artists.

The creative space, located in Martas iela 1, is organising a pop-up shop of Christmas gifts for the second consecutive year. Staff of Tasty have carefully selected all the items to ensure variety, ingeniousness, sense of design and practicality.

The following Latvia’s designers and artists will participate in the event: designer Baiba Linga-Bērziņa – with original candles; BU Design, artists’ association ZAI – with soft toys and delicious brooches; the fashion brand QooQoo – with interesting T-shirts; Munio Candela – with hand-made candles; the comics magazine KuŠ!; Kokmaizītes – with table games, and many others, as well as the Baltic Lomography Association – with its lifestyle accessories. “I’m looking forward to this period of time with great pleasure and interest, as there will definitely be many discoveries both for visitors and myself, especially regarding design of new products,” says Ilze Začeste from the creative space Tasty. “Last year the gift shop also became an original experimental platform of designers’ products.”

“For me the project is like a protest against the usual pre-festivity fever and panic governing at trade centres. We offer a peaceful environment and meaningful presents which will be different from the ones available at the traditional Christmas sales,” says Zīle Dāvidsone from the creative space Tasty.

This is not the first pop-up shop organised in the creative space Tasty. The name of the shop means that the exhibition area will be transformed into a small shop offering works of designers and artists or, for example, into a place for popularisation of the Lomography Association.  

The shop of Christmas gifts will be open on 14 December when all the guests will be treated with Christmas dainties. The gift shop will be open only for nine days – until 23 December. During these days, the doors of Tasty  will be open for everyone from 11.00 to 19.00 in Martas iela 1.
