Export and Inovation Award 2009 has been presented

On 15 December, for the fifth consecutive year, the Ministry of Economics in cooperation with the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (IDAL) presented the Export and Innovation Award 2009 to 30 most successful and innovative Latvian enterprises in different categories. The best and most successful companies were awarded in five different categories.

The recipient of the title Export Champion was the company AS Latvijas Finieris.

In the category the Most Export Capable Merchant the 1st place was awarded to SIA Livonia Print, 2nd place – to SIA Cemex, 3rd place – to SIA Lauma Fabrics, 3rd place – to SIA Baltic candles Ltd in the group of large and medium-sized commercial companies.

In the category the Most Export Capable Merchant the 1st place was awarded to SIA Dīlers, 2nd place – to SIA Nordtext, 3rd place – to SIA AmberCRO in the group of small commercial companies.

In the category the Most Innovative Product the 1st place was awarded to SIA Primekss (PrimeComposite concreting material), 2nd place – to SIA Dores fabrika (a building of milled logs with tabling corner connections), 3rd place – to SIA Metrum” (mapping of air navigation obstacles).
Recognition to:
•   SIA Autonams (F20 - a complex of auto fleet management system)
•   SIA B-phone (B-phone – a mobile device for monitoring of babies)
•   LSEZ SIA Kolumbija Ltd (tinned smoked fish in infusion)
•   SIA Sakret (decorative plaster for historic buildings)

In the category Import Substitute Product the 1st place was awarded to SIA Sakret (decorative plaster), 2nd place – to SIA Limbažu piens (hard cheese Monterigo), 3rd place – to AS Dzintars (a series of skin care products SEA SECRET).
Recognition to:
•   SIA Computer Hardware Design (CHD line of electronic cash register products)
•   SIA Fonons (compressor of an air screw)
•   SIA Grandeg (a pellet heating boiler)
•   AS Valmieras stikla šķiedra (impregnated glass fibre sieves)

All the laureates of the competition received diplomas; the winners of the 1st place in each category will have an opportunity to participate free of charge in merchant delegations during foreign visits of the highest-ranking state officials, as well as in trade missions and individual business trips organised by IDAL. The winners of the first three places in each category and the Export Champion will have the right to use the quality standard mark, specially created for this competition, on products and informative materials. Information about ALL participants of the competition will be posted on the IDAL homepage with a direct link to homepages of the specific companies, as well as published in special export marketing materials.
