On Monday, 21 December, at 15:00 an exhibition Childhood Period opens at Riga Motor Museum. It will be open for visitors until 24 January.

Time passed, the wheels of the lorries broke, the teddy-bear lost its ear, the skipping-rope vanished into thin air, but memories about the sunny moments of our childhood do not disappear. They come back from time to time and get covered with a new glazing; the once unnecessary, broken lorry, the shabby teddy-bear and the doll address us again.  
Technically speaking, most of the toys exhibited at the exhibition Childhood Period, have neither been well preserved nor are in an excellent visual condition. However, their greatest value is that they are alive, that childhood stories and experience make them alive. They have made us better and happier.

The exhibition Childhood Period offers Soviet time toys representing around 50 different types of toys and decades.  It includes lorries, cars, tricycles, pedal cars and, of course, also dolls, watering-cans and balls. You will see things that were common in each play-ground and which made children happy. Original childhood period photographs will be displayed in the gallery of the exhibition.

Classical Soviet time cartoons and specially selected childhood musical background will gladden visitors during the exhibition.
